Ingredients:
Rice for serving
Meat:
1 lb flat iron steak
2 Tbsp flour
1 Tbsp oil
Broccoli:
4 cups of broccoli, bite sized
1 Tbsp oil
½ small onion
2 carrots, cut in chopsticks
Sauce:
2 Tbsp flour
½ cup cold water
½ cup soy sauce (reduce to ¼ cup if using liquid aminos or non-low sodium soy sauce)
1 Tbsp brown sugar
1 Tbsp white sugar
1 Tbsp honey
1 Tbsp minced garlic
¾ tsp ground ginger
¼ tsp pepper
Cut the steak into 1/8 inch thin strips. Put the flour in a gallon bag, add the beef and shake until coated. Heat oil in skillet. Add beef and fry till almost done. Remove from skillet and set aside.
Blanch broccoli and carrots for 30 seconds. Drain and set aside. Heat oil in skillet. Add the onion, carrots and broccoli. Saute for 3 minutes.
Combine all sauce ingredients in a pan, whisk well and boil for 1 minute.
Add the beef and the sauce to the pan with the veggies. Saute for an additional 3 minutes.
Serve over rice and garnish with sesame seeds.
