Bounty, Diversity and Health. Our pastures are teeming with life.
Our Products
You could call us a Beef and Poultry Farm. That would be a description that fits the majority of farms in our community. But... we are a bit different. The first big difference is how we produce our product. 100% of our livestock is raised on pasture, our cattle never receive any grain, and our chickens enjoy a pasture diet supplemented by high quality non-GMO feed. The second big difference? We enjoy the privileged of sharing the fruit of our labor directly with our customers. With no reliance on conventional marketing channels, we can develop meaningful relationships with consumers, and build a enjoyable farm business.
Our Practices
Through Regenerative Farming Practices we are improving our land, providing nutritious food directly to our community, and building a sustainable agricultural lifestyle in which to thrive as a family.
Many of our farming practices are rooted in the desire to make our soil healthier. As the health of our soil improves, our livestock and personal health improves as well. Allowing natural ecosystems to do their job is a big part of what makes soil, and our entire ecosystem healthy.
Rotational Grazing. Centuries past, grazing animals were not confined to small pastures and barns. They roamed in huge herds across the vast plains of our globe, grazing, trampling and fouling, as they went. Once forage was gone in one area they moved on to another, providing rest and recovery to the grazed areas. This cycle is just what soil and microorganisms love, and the result was lush and vibrant grasslands. With rotational grazing we mimic this movement across the land, albeit on a very tiny scale. The soil, pastures, and livestock thrive.
We use no Antibiotics, Artificial Hormones, Pesticides or other Chemicals. We truly believe that a healthy ecosystem produces healthy animals. Since switching to this regenerative farming model our livestock and fields have thrived. We see no need for artificial agricultural inputs into our system, it just works naturally! And lets face it, we the consumers are a whole lot healthier too.
Respect for Our Flocks and Herds. Animal welfare is very important to us. Animals have dignity, worth, and a right to be treated kindly. Our flocks and herds enjoy the best life, and their contentment is obvious as we tend to them each day.
Agriculture has taken a dangerous road over the past century. Industrialization and consolidation has put our food system in a vulnerable place. Land degradation, water contamination, and food of low nutrient value have been the consequences of a unsustainable system. We, along with a host of other like minded farmers and ranchers, are determined to regenerate our land through new and better farming practices.
